This trip was the perfect mix of peaceful nature and concrete playground. I met up with my family to embark on a short road trip, making our very first stop at Wedge Pond. The water was incredibly still early in the morning, creating a flawless, glass-like reflection of the peak and the dramatic sky above.

We continued our drive and hit Lake Minnewanka. The sheer scale of this lake is always impressive. We spent some time walking along the rocky shoreline, taking in the vast, vibrant blue waters and the sweeping views of the mountain range stretching across the horizon.

Our next major stop was the iconic Lake Louise. Even with dramatic, cloudy skies rolling in over the glacier, the turquoise water was as breathtaking as ever. Finding a spot on the rocks, we took a moment to soak in the crisp mountain air before heading back to the city.

From Mountains to the Mall
After getting our fill of the mountains, we drove all the way back to Edmonton. Because it was during the peak of COVID times, the normally packed West Edmonton Mall (WEM) parking lot was completely deserted. We met up at the empty lot outside The Rec Room for a special reason: Vernon and I had both just gotten new cars! Taking advantage of the rare empty space, we parked them side-by-side and had a proper photoshoot to celebrate.
